Soil Support Using Shotcrete and H-Beam System
Description of Excavation and Shoring Works:
Due to the weak soil conditions at the project located on King Fahd Road, and with excavation depths reaching 24 meters, it was essential to adopt a comprehensive shoring system to ensure wall stability and minimize the risk of collapses during all execution phases.
Phase One:
An initial wall support system was implemented to a depth of 4 meters using H-Beam sections, reinforced with a steel mesh and concrete casting, executed in parallel with the excavation works.
Subsequent Phases:
A Shotcrete system reinforced with anchors was applied to strengthen the soil and stabilize the deeper wall sections, in full compliance with structural safety requirements and the project's technical standards.
